Do we really know the meaning of this word.
Webster says we are to form or have in the mind -
...to have as an opinion: believe
...to reflect on: ponder
...to call to mind: remember
...to devise by thinking
...to form a mental picture of
WOW!! - doesn't reflect on our way of life much anymore, does it.
A good example - my friend was trying to get something across to
the Medicare office - my friend made the comment about something
"why do
you think - blah, blah" -
The answer was astounding...
The gal on the other end of the phone said 'we are not paid to
think.'
If any of you have ever dealt with any government offices - you
can
believe this.
Now she did not realize it - but she was very prophetic. That is
the mindset of soooo many anymore and it is very frustrating.
Just go to the airport and watch awhile - see how many people are
thinking on their own.
I spent 17 hours in the airport on Saturday trying to get to
Kansas
City and 12 hours trying to get back home, never making it to
Kansas
City. I had plenty of time to sit and ponder and watch.
What I saw was absolutely unbelievable.
A deaf couple trying to frantically get some informatin from an
agent.
The agent just shrugs her shoulders - not thinking to get a
pencil and
paper to help this couple. I happen to know sign language and was
able
to go over and help - the couple was so grateful they cried.
What was she THINKING??? - she wasn't.
Three International travelers - been on the trip for three days
trying
to get to their destination - they were told to go sit in another
gate
until their name was called - you could not hear in that gate the
names
called from the other gate - they gave their seats away. The
three
travelers were brought to tears - watching grown men cry because
of
neglect is so very sad.
What was she THINKING??? - she wasn't.
An elderly lady being searched - told to lift her foot so they
could
check with the bar - she says 'I can't' - they just say louder -
'lift your leg' - she could hardly walk - let alone lift her leg.
What was he THINKING??? - he wasn't.
I told the security guard before hand that there was a diebetic
testing
kit in the bag - he spent at least 5 minutes looking through the
scanner,
then calls over his supervisor who spends another minute looking
at it,
I tell them again - it is a diebetic testing kit - they pull the
bag
off to the side - search me and my bag - NEVER opening the
testing kit
to see what it was.
What were they THINKING??? - they weren't.
My friend made it to Kansas City and on the way back it was again
a nightmare - she was searched and sent to the wing the plane was
leaving from - she never left the wing - they changed the gate 5
times,
she was searched - herself and her bags opened 5 times within the
matter of
a few hours - why? They mispelled her name, she arrived early and
paid cash.
She has many health problems - MS being one of them - that is why
she
arrived early - You would think they would put two and two
together -
No way - they were not THINKING!!!
I was ill and could not get an appointment with the doctor - they
said
they would call me in a prescription - I went to the drug store 4
times.
Four days later the drug store called and said your prescription
is
ready - I told him I could have died and I didn't need it anymore
-
What was the doctor's office THINKING??? - they weren't.
I hear from people all the time - they write - I have to make a
lot
of money in the next few months - how do I do it.
They're not thinking - they would not think of building a
business
in the real world in a few months - I don't know why they think
they
can do it on the internet.
It is very sad to see our society these days and the shape it is
in
because of non-caring or non-thinking.
My husband was just coming home and saw a 10 year old boy bolt
from
a moving pickup truck - run across the road through a fence and
into
the woods - the pickup truck kept moving with the door open -
watching
as my husband stopped in the middle of the road - came up behind
him
and turned into a driveway like he lived there - my husband
watched in the
rear view mirrow and he spun around (door still open) and back to
where
the kid ran. My husband called the police - they passed him off
to two
people - said very haphazard - 'ok we'll take a look' - that's
it. I
pray this child is alright.
More neglect - non-thinking actions.
Now this is just a matter of a few hours - can you imagine
multiplying
this hundreds and hundreds of times every minute of the day - can
you
understand why our attitudes and patience are in the pits.
Will it turn around? Will it get any better? - sorry to sound so
negative - but turning it around starts with one person - one
person
at a time and maybe it will be contegous.

HELP FOR THE
HURTING HEART

How often we try to please others - to no avail.
Am I Responsible?
Am I responsible for those
around
when there's no joy or laughter or happy sounds?
Can I make the people closest to
me,
see themselves as God sees them
and learn to be all they can be?
Can I stir up and make happiness
in the heart?
Can I take the burden from this person
around me and show them how to get a new start?
Can I take the negative thoughts
from their mind?
Can I replace them with the positive and show a new path to find?
You say 'no' I can't do any of
these.
Then why take the blame when you are told 'you just can't
please.'
You're not responsible for
another persons happiness you see.
They will find happiness when they can look inside
and say 'it's just between God and me.'
When the little cocoon draws
away into its little shell,
even in the darkness and he is completely changed;
no one can do it for him and he will stay there until
God says 'all is well.'
He comes out entirely different
than when he went in.
Only God can change you within and wipe away every sin.
When all around you looks gloom
and doom,
don't look at others to find where your problems loom.
Stand up and face them like a man,
Don't blame others, look within and take your stand.
When everyone around you does
not join in your 'pity party,'
look within them to see what makes them so hardy.
You'll find them walking close
to our Father above,
who can wrap all those cares in a cocoon and
between you and God, when the cocoon has changed,
you'll find peace like a dove

A SMILE A DAY HELPS THE
PAIN GO AWAY

An old man lived alone in
Ireland. He wanted to spade his potato garden,
but it was very hard work.
His only son, who would have helped him,
was in Long Kesh Prison.
The old man wrote a letter to his son and
mentioned his predicament.
Shortly, he received this reply,
"For HEAVEN'S SAKE Dad, don't dig up
that garden,
that's where I buried the GUNS!"
At 4 A.M. the next morning, a
dozen British soldiers showed up and dug up
the entire garden, without finding any
guns.
Confused, the old man wrote
another note to his son telling him what
happened, and asking him what to do next.
His son's reply was: "Now plant
your potatoes, Dad. It's the best I
could do at this time."

Subject: Why we are so tired
For a couple years I've been blaming it on lack of sleep, too
much
pressure from my job, earwax buildup, poor blood or anything else
I could
think of.
But now I found out the real reason: I'm tired because I'm
overworked.
Here's why:
The population of this country is 273 million.
140 million are retired.
That leaves 133 million to do the work.
There are 85 million in school, which leaves 48
million to do the work.
Of this there are 29 million employed by the federal government,
leaving 19
million to do the work.
2.8 million are in the armed forces preoccupied with killing the
Taliban.

Which leaves 16.2 million to do the work.
Take from the total the 14,800,000 people who work
for state and city
governments.
And that leaves 1.4 million to do the work.
At any given time there are 188,000 people in
hospitals, Leaving 1,212,000
to do the work.
Now, there are 1,211,998 people in prisons.

That leaves just two people to do the work.

1. I will NOT get bad luck, lose my friends, or lose my mailing

I don't forward an e-mail.
2. I will NOT hear any music or see a taco dog if I do forward an
e-mail.
3. Bill Gates is NOT going to send me money and Victoria Secret
doesn't
know anything about a gift certificate they're supposed to send
me.
4. Ford will NOT give me a 50% discount even if forward my e-mail
to
more than 50 people.
5. I will NEVER receive gift certificates, coupons, or freebies
from
Coca Cola, Cracker Barrel, Old Navy, or anyone else if I send an

whatever they named it this week) that, if passed, will enable
them to
charge us five cents for every e-mail we send.
10. There will be NO cool dancing, singing, waving, colorful
flowers,
characters, or program that I will receive immediately after I
forward
an e-mail. NONE, ZIP, ZERO, NADA!
11. The American Red Cross will NOT donate 50 cents to a certain
individual dying of some never-heard-of disease for every e-mail
address
I send this to. The American Red Cross RECEIVES donations.
12. And finally, I WILL NOT let others guilt me into sending
things by
telling me I am not their friend or that I don't believe in Jesus
Christ. If God wants to send me a message, I believe the bushes
in my
yard will burn before He picks up a PC to pass it on!
Now, repeat these twelve FACTS to yourself until you have them
memorized, then send it along to at least 5 of your friends
before the
next full moon, or you will surely be constipated for the next
three
months and all of your hair will fall out!
