1. This section will be
for the very beginner or the burned out marketer who
would benefit from going back to basics.
It is very
easy to become burned out in this business. You work and
work at it and feel like you are dropping water in the
ocean with an eye dropper. But just keep in mind, the
rivers are filled a drop at a time, sometimes fast and
sometimes slow.
Your
marketing career is like chopping down a big tree - one
chip at time. I have quit so many times and someone comes
along and picks me up and I get started again, each time
I get a little farther along. One day, I am confident I
will make it.
I will
post one of my 'give up' letters, just to give you some
encouragement.

But some
good came out of it - a very successful marketer was on
my mailing list and he received a copy of the letter -
would you believe he took the time out of his busy
schedule to call me and give me some encouragement and
ask me not to quit - he said I was at least 85% of the
way there. Well that encouraged me so much that I picked
myself up again, developed some products of my own to
sell and decided I would help every tired and confused
marketer that would read my material.
So the
desire to help is real and not just something thrown up
to make money - I truly wish to help all those who will
read or ask. So don't ever hesitate to give me a call
anytime you have a question. The only dumb question is
one you do not ask. I am here for you if you need help. I
will continue to make this as personal as I sincerely can
without going totally automated - I still believe in the
one-on-one approach.

stuck - you need an answer - not 24 hours down the road.

clue what you would like to market, just start by
entering into the search engines things that interest
you. Start surfing and checking out all the ones that
kinda tug at your heart. You will soon see where your
interest starts peeking. Whatever is close to your
heart - this is what you pursue.
Another option you
might start out with would be one of the successful
'affiliate programs.' There are hundreds out there.
You will soon see which ones are the successful ones
as you run across them on the web. I will list a few
here that I have had success with and I know they pay
on time. If this is not your interest - just move on
to the next level.

There
are many more good programs - but I don't want to
overload you with all of these. I know these work,
because they have worked for me = they pay on time
and sell very well. This will get your feet wet with
very good products and you will obtain some very
valuable experience from all of them, because you
purchase them and then you can resell. They are all
very reasonable. You will find some of the programs
across the Internet for $300 and $400 and will not
contain any better information than what is here.

b. Obtaining a host for your
domain.
Decide if you want to go with the free web page or
one with your own domain.
Here you must make a
decision before you can go further.
You must decide if you
want a free web page or a paid domain or go with an
affiliate program that gives you a web page, or both.
I have all three.
I did recommend
several free hosts, however since a couple of those
have gone down and left many people without their web
pages or any warning, I will no longer recommend free
hosts.
Also I don't want to
happen to you what happened to me. I worked months
and advertised for years on my first web page
(Diamonds from Heaven) - built it up to where it had
over 60,000 visitors and they decided to move me to a
larger server - this changed the URL and I have never
recovered on the web page for the loss of visitors.
Just did not have the time to go through it all
again. It is better to pay - the old saying "you
get what you pay for" certainly rings true to
the internet.
I am going under the
assumption that if you want to do business on the
internet that you can afford a domain of your own.
They can be obtained for as little as $9.95.
You just are not taken
serious doing business from a free website. It has no
feeling of stability.
However you can get a ready-made professional site
with numerous templates to choose from when you

This one is an exception. They are well
established.
I have read that you
cannot get your pages listed on the search engines
with the free pages - this is not true - I have at
least 7 pages of my free pages listed, even on Yahoo.

are many good hosts all over the web - I will just
give you the list and you can see which one fits your
needs the most.

the name you want before obtaining your domain host
because the domain you choose will file your
registration from the agency that secures the names
and it is easier, your site will just be set up and
ready to go once your registered name is returned to
the host. To register your domain use to cost $70.00
and at some sites still does. However it is now
possible to register your domain for only $13.50 a
year.

If you
are not sure as to which route you want to go here -
there is no reason to hurry - just go for the free
one and make that decision later.
c. Setting up your e-mails
This is very important
before you start marketing. You will receive
literally hundreds of e-mails so you don't want these
to go to your main e-mail.
I wish someone had
told me about this before I started marketing.
There are hundreds out
there - the ones I use are easy to delete.

Just remember - if you are going to
do business on the internet - no one will take you
serious when you use free e-mail servers - use them
for your throw away addresses (the ones where you
sign up for things, but don't want a lot of spam sent
to you. Your host you get will have e-mail which will
tie in with your domain.
For example - my domain name is
Starter Kit Haven - my e-mail address is admin@starterkithaven.com - which you can have redirected to your ISP
- making all your e-mail come to one address - but
don't start out with a company using free Hotmail or
Yahoo, etc. It won't work.
d. Get your autoresponders - your
little secretaries.
This is something you
can be looking into, but not necessary to just jump
right into it. I know you will be like I was when I
started. I really wanted to take care of it all
personally and you will be able to for awhile. So you
will have a little breathing time here and can check
out many across the web.
Just enter into the
search engine 'autoresponders' you will find many to
choose from. They are coming on line every day.
Remember - most hosts
offer autoresponders with your domain.
Just go look them over
and test them out - they all will walk you through
it. The way they work is after you sign up, the
autoresponder will give you your address for the name
you pick, for example, I have my subscribers listed
at E-mail Aces, therefore my autoresponder is set up for
my subscribers to just click on: RS@sharonl.emailaces.com .I am notified when someone signs up for
the e4u Newsletter.
When someone signs up
for my newsletter, when they click submit, it goes to
this address and a welcome letter is automatically
sent to the new subscriber.
You will be able to do
the same when you have a product to sell. After you
get it all set up, it is all automatic and all you
will have to do is market your product and the little
autoresponder will be your salesman and close the
sales automatically.
I would suggest you get set up with
a good autoresponder - lots of them change services
just when you have advertised your services all over
the internet. You can get one for a small fee each
